Aujourd'hui, nous regardons \u00e0 l'int\u00e9rieur de nos fronti\u00e8res et explorons comment nous pouvons soutenir les efforts nationaux pour recruter du personnel dans des r\u00f4les tr\u00e8s n\u00e9cessaires dans les foyers de soins de longue dur\u00e9e \u00e0 travers le pays.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Dans le monde entier, les Canadiens sont connus pour leur compassion, leur gentillesse et leur g\u00e9n\u00e9rosit\u00e9. Bien que nous devions ouvrir des voies d'acc\u00e8s aux nouveaux arrivants, il y a sans aucun doute des Canadiens qui conviendraient parfaitement pour travailler dans le secteur des soins de longue dur\u00e9e. Toutefois, le recrutement de personnel qualifi\u00e9 et comp\u00e9tent se heurte \u00e0 plusieurs obstacles, dont la r\u00e9putation des soins de longue dur\u00e9e.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Il est essentiel de r\u00e9tablir cette confiance avec le grand public pour attirer les talents et nous sommes convaincus que nous pouvons le faire. Chaque jour, des histoires positives soulignent l'importance des liens \u00e9tablis dans les foyers de soins de longue dur\u00e9e. Les interactions personnelles entre les membres du personnel et les r\u00e9sidents ont un impact profond sur la qualit\u00e9 des soins.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Les foyers de soins de longue dur\u00e9e sont fondamentalement des lieux de soins et de compassion, d'une certaine fa\u00e7on, ils sont typiquement canadiens. C'est une histoire que nous devrions raconter plus souvent. Lorsque nous encourageons les travailleurs nationaux \u00e0 envisager une carri\u00e8re dans les soins de longue dur\u00e9e, nous devons veiller \u00e0 ce qu'ils puissent s'imaginer s'y int\u00e9grer. Il y a plusieurs fa\u00e7ons d'y parvenir, mais une premi\u00e8re \u00e9tape facile \u00e0 franchir consiste \u00e0 mener une action de sensibilisation cibl\u00e9e, en vantant les valeurs du travail dans notre secteur.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Une partie de cette action doit viser les \u00e9tudiants qui ne sont pas toujours attir\u00e9s par les carri\u00e8res dans le domaine des soins de longue dur\u00e9e. Par exemple, nous devons nous efforcer de trouver un moyen d'attirer plus d'hommes dans le domaine des soins infirmiers dans nos foyers. Lorsque nous examinons les donn\u00e9es d\u00e9mographiques des travailleurs dans le domaine des soins de longue dur\u00e9e, nous constatons que les femmes sont majoritaires; il est temps d'essayer d'\u00e9quilibrer cette situation.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Cependant, il est impossible d'encourager les gens \u00e0 embrasser ces carri\u00e8res s'il n'existe pas d'espaces et de programmes \u00e9ducatifs. Un plan \u00e0 long terme d\u00e9di\u00e9 et cr\u00e9atif est n\u00e9cessaire pour garantir que l'offre de nouveau personnel corresponde \u00e0 la demande croissante.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>La CALTC souhaite que le gouvernement f\u00e9d\u00e9ral, les gouvernements provinciaux, les coll\u00e8ges, les universit\u00e9s, les organismes de r\u00e9glementation et les organisations de soins de sant\u00e9 s'unissent pour y parvenir. Commencez par d\u00e9velopper et financer des programmes de formation, de dipl\u00f4me et de certificat pour les infirmi\u00e8res, les PSSP et les professionnels des soins.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>En s'appuyant sur la cr\u00e9ation de nouveaux espaces \u00e9ducatifs, il convient \u00e9galement d'accorder la priorit\u00e9 \u00e0 la formation \"en cours d'emploi\". Cela permettrait aux \u00e9tudiants d'obtenir des cr\u00e9dits universitaires, d'acqu\u00e9rir une exp\u00e9rience pratique et aurait \u00e9galement l'avantage de renforcer la main-d'\u0153uvre dans les foyers de soins de longue dur\u00e9e.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>En plus de la formation pratique, les \u00e9tablissements d'enseignement devraient \u00e9galement \u00e9largir la port\u00e9e de leurs programmes en incluant une meilleure base de formation en g\u00e9riatrie dans les programmes de soins infirmiers. Nous savons que la population du Canada continue de vieillir, et ne pas en tenir compte dans la formation de la prochaine g\u00e9n\u00e9ration de travailleurs de la sant\u00e9 ne leur donnerait pas les moyens de r\u00e9ussir.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>La crise des RHS ne se r\u00e9sorbera pas du jour au lendemain; elle n\u00e9cessitera un effort concert\u00e9 de la part des gouvernements et des organisations de tout le pays, qui devront \u00e9laborer des strat\u00e9gies \u00e0 long terme pour veiller \u00e0 ce que notre main-d'\u0153uvre soit constitu\u00e9e de mani\u00e8re appropri\u00e9e.<\/p>","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Last week, we discussed ideas and solutions that involved bringing talented newcomers to Canada to help alleviate the HHR crisis hitting long-term care.
