The Canadian Association for Long Term Care was established in 2002 to provide long-term care associations and providers with a forum to share information, best practices and evidence to improve the quality of care provided to residents in long-term care, no matter where they live. Since that time, CALTC has evolved to be the leading advocacy voice for long-term care homes at a national level.
Our 2020-2023 Strategic Plan outlines CALTC’s vision, mission and strategic priorities, which underpin all our activities on behalf of our members.
Vision
Quality long-term care for all.
Mission
CALTC is the leading voice for quality long-term care in Canada. CALTC advocates on behalf of seniors at the federal level and shares knowledge, insights and best practices to ensure seniors can live and age with dignity.
Strategic Priorities
Canada’s federal government has an essential role to play in ensuring a high-performing and accessible long-term care system across the country. CALTC is committed to advancing actionable, evidence-backed recommendations that will lead to tangible improvements for the hundreds of thousands of Canadians who depend on long-term care. CALTC has identified three critical areas where federal policy changes and investments will make the largest impact on the quality of life for seniors living in long-term care: health and human resources (HHR), infrastructure, and digital solutions.
